Summary of GM, Sunday 5th Week Trinity Term 2005 Keyboard Motion: Motion passed with no opposition. JCR will buy keyboard and related equipment totalling £820. Coffee Machine Motion: Motion passed with no opposition. JCR will purchase coffee machine for around £1000, which will be put in the JCR Social Room where the big photocopier is currently. Fair-trade Motion Motion passed by 33 votes to 0, with 1 abstention. Fair-trade tea, coffee and chocolate will be bought from tradecraft.co.uk, stocked in the JCR Shop for a trial period and sold at cost price. JCR Opt-out Levy Motion Motion passed by 27 votes to 1, with 3 abstentions. Magdalen Homeless Action and Oxford Aid to the Balkans will be removed from the levies form next Michaelmas, although the option will be there for MHA to be reinstated if it is successfully restarted. Arts Festival Motion Motion passed by 20 votes to 3, with 7 abstentions. The Arts Festival Committee will become a permanent sub-committee of the JCR Committee, providing a mechanism for continuity in future years but without the JCR Committee interfering in the organisation of the Arts Festival.
