GM Summary, Sunday 1st Week MT05 |
Summary of GM, Sunday 1st Week Michaelmas Term 2005 Ball Loan Motion Motion passed with no opposition. JCR will loan the Commemoration Ball Committee £2000 from our reserve fund on the condition that it is repaid as soon as tickets are sold. They must also seek funding from the MCR. Bar Motion Motion passed with no opposition. Varun will express our dislike of the changes to the Bar to the Home Bursar. The Bar will be repainted by summer anyway as the colour was wrong, and we will inquire as to the possibility of getting nicer, less dangerous replacement furniture which is still lightweight and stackable. Graduation Ceremonies Motion Motion passed without opposition. Varun will speak to other colleges and university authorities about the possibility of changing the way graduation ceremonies are run to make it easier for groups of friends to graduate together and sooner. Oscar’s Naked Bop Motion Motion failed with 10 votes in favour, lots more in opposition and 3 abstentions. There will be no naked bop, saving us from potential hypothermia and humiliation, and Oscar will be forced to continue wandering around sans clothes. However, he states that donations would be gratefully received.
