OXAB is a student-run organisation that has been helping disadvantaged
children in the Balkans since 1993. The original trips to Bosnian refugee
camps were a great success, and since then, OXAB has expanded to help
children in orphanages and other institutions in both Bosnia and Bulgaria.
Trips focus especially on personal contribution by the volunteers to
the children's lives - in many cases, for children living in chronically
understaffed institutions, care and attention can do far more than
new equipment and toys, however desperately needed. Magdalen College
Aid
to the Balkans (MCAB) are looking for volunteers to travel to Bulgaria
this Easter to work with children in orphanages and day centres. Meetings
are held every Sunday in Hilary and Trinity term at 7.30 pm in the
Miles Room at St. Peter's College.
