About the JCR

The JCR (Junior Common Room) is the name given to the undergraduate student body of oxford colleges. Confusingly it is also a physical place that functions as a common room for undergraduate students to use. The JCR can be a place for students to socialize (e.g. by playing pool or watching a film) and will sometimes host events such as movie nights. Our JCR is run by the JCR committee and it provides a number of functions (including maintaining the physical JCR). We help to provide a link from students to the college, give out grants for sports or creative projects and run events throughout the year such as BOPs (essentially a big college party). There is a dedicated welfare team who help to support students by running events and providing a contact to reach out to.
