JCR Team List
Vice President
Jennifer Holly
The Vice President deals with the Constitution, the Room Ballot, and the Creative Project Fund. If anyone has any questions as to what is allowed by the JCR's Constitution, I'm the one answering that question, often trying to make the constitution work for everyone within its limits. Also, I announce and receive motions for General Meetings, when we discuss our approach and spending as a JCR. The Room Ballot helps to allocate rooms to 2nd years and above, which I manage by randomly assigning names to numbers, whilst the Creative Project Fund is a great opportunity for Magdalen JCR members to get some money to help them on their creative journey, be it linoprint, violin or photography.
Treasurer
Sankavi Kulendrababu
As Treasurer, I manage the JCR budget to fund student events, sports, welfare, catering, academic affairs, facilities and charity donations. I process reimbursements, keep track of all transactions, and ensure our spending remains transparent and efficient. In Trinity term, I negotiate budgets with college admin on behalf of undergraduates, making sure student needs are properly funded. If you ever need a reimbursement or have questions about JCR finances, I’m the one to ask!
Secretary
Hadiza Adebowale
As JCR Secretary, I'm the administrative core of the JCR. You'll see my name pop up at least once a week with the weekly notices emails, accompanied by terrible memes. I also organise and chair weekly Committee meetings (as well as ordering pizzas!!), as well as taking minutes of Committee and General Meetings, alongside working closely with the exec and wider committee. Please find / email me if you have any general JCR enquiries!
Access and Admissions Officers
Haja Sam and Bradley Williams
The Access and Admissions Trustees oversee communications between the JCR, the Magdalen Access and Outreach officers, and the Magdalen Admissions officer. This usually involves encouraging participation in access events and promoting Magdalen through the JCR Access Instagram page (@dicover_magdalen). Every two years, the Access and Admissions Trustees create the Alternative Prospectus, a student-curated information booklet on life at Magdalen.
Within the day-to-day running of the JCR, the Access and Admissions Trustees look after the welfare of the cohort by hosting events such as the ‘State School Tea’ and often collaborate with various minorities officers on events. They are also in charge of an annual book collection, which allows books to be distributed across year groups.

Art Curator
Vladimira Dzhon and Sanaa Bhuwalka
As JCR art curators we are in charge of the collection of art that belongs to the JCR and MCR, working alongside the MCR art curator. This involves any conservation work and reframing, our role involves managing the collection and ensuring it's being housed and organised correctly too. We can also acquire new pieces of art to add to the JCR collection which we are very keen to do! We also work in collaboration with the Arts and Photography officer to put on arts week
Arts and Photography Officers
The Arts and Photography team are in charge of the annual Arts Week, taking place in Trinity term. This is a generally very popular crafty week, just before exams kick in. As well as this, the role includes overseeing organising a photographer for bops and JCR events: this photographer can be you, but doesn't need to be!
Charities Officers
Abigail Grant (Executive),
Nina Yuan
As Charities Reps we are responsible for running fundraising events for the two charities that the JCR votes for each year. All funds we raise go towards one national charity and another international charity. We also work with other students in the JCR to support their charitable events and offer support for other fundraising events taking place in the wider college community.

Disabled Students Officer
Kris Darby
Ahoy! As disability officer, I'll be whoever you want to go to regarding matters involving any disabilities: both physical or mental, whether diagnosed or not. If there are any concerns you have over accessing help or accommodating things around college, then please contact me!
Freshers' Officers
Isabella Taylor (Executive),
Madeline Jo Langa, Alessandro Bartocetti, Albert Knights, Alexander Kwon, Louis Kidger and Hawwa Hussain
The freps (fresher representatives) are a small group of typically first-year students, who’s role is the introduction of new freshers to our JCR. The freps manage an instagram account @magdalenfreshers2025 from January to September, accessible to provide information to and answer questions of Magdalen offer-holders. Within college, freps also arrange assignment of ‘college-parents’; a system providing new freshers with mentor-type ‘parents’ in the year above to offer guidance and support. Finally, the principle role of the freps is the organisation and facilitation of freshers week, allowing a fun introduction to life at Oxford university (specifically Magdalen) at the start of the year.

Racial and Ethnic Minority Officer
Aparna Shankar
As BAME Officer, I work to make the college more inclusive for students from minority ethnic backgrounds. It involves organising events, teas and formals to bring the BAME community at Magdalen together, as well as being a point of contact for college to address any matters of racism and inclusivity students may have. Contact me to have a chat about anything inclusivity and BAME-related you may be going through, or have a concern about!

Sports Officers
Isabella Hawkins and Milo Holland
The sports officers’ main role is the organisation of the annual Magdalen-Magdalene sports day, with our twin college in Cambridge. This alternates between being hosted here in Oxford and in Cambridge each year. In addition to this we are responsible for organising the sports fund and providing support to sports teams.”
